Local teen takes out top awards at national film student competition!
Hūnua local Liam Nightingale, 17, has won second place and Best Editor at OnScreen 2025 for his short film ‘The Plastic Weight of Uncanny Denial’, which he made entirely on his own.
“I wanted to prove you don’t need a big budget or a big team to make something people remember,” Liam says.
Always writing new ideas, Liam already released his next short, “Cheat Shot” straight after. He’s also launched Nightingale Productions, filming videos for local business websites and social media.
“I want to help local businesses be seen through my work,” he says.
