Hundreds of Franklin locals turned up to ECOLight Stadium no.2 field for the Waitangi Day celebrations with Powell Transport supplying a flatbed truck that was used as a stage for local, up-and-coming talent.

The day was organized by the Huakina Trust with Rob Hita overseeing operations. It was a warm, overcast day with traditional Maori food and BBQ being the crowd favourite. Kids were kept entertained with a bouncy castle and soccer ball games.

It was a great day out and a good display of community unity.
