Jason and Alofa of Lone Star Pukekohe with a staff of volunteers and sponsors turned out for the 2nd annual christmas charity lunch held at the Lone Star restaurant.

With the input of Geoff Smith from Franklin Family Support, up to 150 people turned up. Young families and new people to the community were invited for a full on lunch which included roast beef, ham, chicken, yorkshire pudding, kumara, potato slice, chips, cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce and loads more. Dessert was followed after a visit from the Santa Claus.

Santa arrived in his big red sledge (firetruck) and was greeted by children and grown ups alike. He sat on the sofa and was approached by kids that were gifted a gift that were donated by the public and many small businesses.

A box full of gifts were presented by a lady that last year was a invitee to the 2015 lunch and returned the favour of generosity by becoming a volunteer for this year’s 2016 charity lunch.

The lunch was held over 2 hours and fun was had by all. Thank you to the folks that turned up and congratulations to the volunteers that forwent their own family lunch in order to help others.
