After visiting the Pukekohe’s Pioneer Cottage, I thought it would make sense to pop out and have a look at the Tuakau & District Museum. What I saw there was mind blowing and took me back to when I was a kid growing up in the 70’s/80’s.
There are plenty of items dating back to the 20th & 19th century that was donated over the years plus newly donated items are coming from residents of the new retirement villages that are popping up around Franklin. These folks are down sizing and donating items that has been in storage for many years.
The Tuakau Museum is open from 9.30am – 12 midday on Thursday and Sunday afternoons from 1.00pm -3.30pm and a gold coin donation is more than welcome. Step back in time and see how the people that built this nation, used to live.
